Trading Terms

Unless otherwise agreed a deposit of 30% shall be paid prior to commencement of any work.  The balance is due on or before delivery of the goods to any site in the Sydney metropolitan area.  For deliveries outside the Sydney metropolitan area Spectrum must be in receipt of cleared funds before despatch of the goods.All prices quoted, are quoted ex factory unless a separate delivery & packaging charge is shown. All applicable duties, international taxes, insurance, local handling & custom clearance charges are the responsibility of the purchaser. No deposits shall be refunded once work on a job has commenced. Unless stated separately, the cost of goods quoted does not include delivery, installation or cost of materials for installation purposes.  The quotation is valid for a period of 60 days and any variation in quantity, design or finishes may alter the prices estimated and the delivery times indicated.

Artwork, & Templates

The prices estimated are also subject to the receipt of a min. 1:5 scale drawing signage, and templates (minimum of 3mm thick ply) for all non standard, custom shapes. All supplied templates must be to size clearly marked with all holes, cut outs etc. and as templates are used to cut raw material 3-5mm growth in the final product should be allowed for when using templates. We also reserve the right to reject supplied artwork or templates if they are deemed unsatisfactory for reproduction and no work will commence until satisfactory artwork or templates are received. We also require a minimum 1:5 bromide for all logo's or special typefaces.

Title

Title of the goods does not pass to the purchaser until all amounts paid are cleared by Spectrum’s bank. Deposits are also non refundable once work has commenced.

Delivery

All jobs are quoted ex works Silverwater unless a delivery charge is quoted separately.  All deliveries shall be carried out by purchaser.  For deliveries outside the Sydney metropolitan area the purchaser shall nominate their own carrier and pay the respective charges direct.  No responsibility for damage caused by any carrier other than by Spectrum shall be borne by Spectrum.  Insurance of goods carried by any carrier other than Spectrum shall be the responsibility of the purchaser.

Variations

Where kiln-forming is part of the manufacturing process Spectrum takes every care to maintain consistency in its product but some variation in the texture of the final product will occur from batch to batch or within individual batches.  Variations will occur between samples and finished jobs.  Panel sizes have a tolerance of  +/-5mm.

Dimensions & Finishes

The production of products is based on the quantities and finishes submitted and it is the sole responsibility of the purchaser to finalize exact quantities and sizes for any goods that are to be manufactured using dimensions or quantities nominated by other contractors. We also take no responsibility for any incorrect measurements given, or any glass that does not fit purpose built frames when such measurements are given by the purchaser or their nominated sub-contractors or agents. An allowance should also be made for all glass supplied by Spectrum as panel edges for glazing into rebates have a tolerance of  +/-5mm . Glass with bound edges may also feature irregularities due to the hand made nature of the product.

Colours

For accurate matching of corporate or other colours in custom-designed panels, Spectrum requires the purchaser to nominate a PMS or Dulux colour for the paint used.  In any instance the textures created in the glass, the inherent background green colour of the raw material, and local lighting in situation will cause some variation from the nominated colour.  Whilst Spectrum takes every care to accurately match nominated colours Spectrum will accept no claims for refund where some colour variation occurs.

Design

Where matching corporate or other designs is required Spectrum requires eps or ai files and a colour printout of artwork to be provided.  Other non-standard custom designs may be created in consultation with the purchaser.  Once approval has been given for the final artwork Spectrum shall accept no responsibility for variations caused by the kiln-forming process.

Toughening

Where necessary, glass panels are supplied toughened to Australian Standard AS2208-1979 'Safety Glazing Materials for use in Buildings (Human Impact Considerations)'.  In large panels the toughening process may cause the panel to show signs of bowing.  Whilst every effort is made to minimise this effect Spectrum accepts no responsibility for bowing which may be otherwise considered excessive.

Templates

Where templates are supplied they must be to cutting size of glass and of a rigid form, (eg MDF or plywood).  Paper and cardboard templates are not acceptable for this purpose.

Standards & Legal Liability 

We remind potential purchasers that general glass products manufactured by Spectrum Art Glass, or its nominated suppliers, are constructed from clear float glass (unless specified differently) and it is a condition of purchase that no recall, both financially and legally, can be made on Spectrum Art Glass for any damage to property or person that may result from breakage's of any glass products no matter how these breakage's may have occurred. Spectrum will attempt to ensure that all glass supplied meets the relevant codes and standards however Spectrum recommends a structural engineer be consulted for all structural requirements and Spectrum accepts no liability for damages to the glass or other property caused during installation by parties other than Spectrum or its nominated installers.

Installation

Installation or panel fixings are not included in any pricing unless shown separately. All installation work estimated as a separate item is performed by approved Spectrum contractors and all work will be invoiced direct by the contractor to the client, with payments to be made direct to the contractor. Spectrum accepts no responsibility for work carried out by nominated contractors.
